Intentional Weaving: The Beginning of a New Chapter

In the traditional rug industry, there is a quieter side that is not always visible. Some handmade rugs can spend long periods in storage while waiting for the right home. Each rug represents many hours of an artisan’s work and craftsmanship.

We believe an artisan’s time deserves to be valued.

Our approach is simple: the Intentional Loom. Instead of producing rugs for stock, we focus on creating designs that are woven after an order is placed. It is a shift from rugs waiting to be chosen to rugs created for a specific customer.

The Digital Sketch

We create detailed digital designs, with colours matched as closely as possible to the actual wool colours available in our workshop. This allows you to see the planned design before the weaving begins and gives us the opportunity to refine the design before production.

We have started with a small selection of designs and plan to add more over time, giving our customers a wider range to choose from.

The Physical Proof

To help bridge the gap between the digital design and the finished rug, we are preparing handwoven samples that will be available soon. These samples will allow you to experience the texture and colours of the materials before the full rug is woven.

Made to Order

Because we weave each rug after an order is placed, production begins with a specific customer in mind. Rather than producing these designs for stock, we create them in response to an order and then send the finished rug to its new home.
